Anyone who had a heart

He wrote what we wanted to hear
his words were who we were
The singers who knew
They sang the words without fear

The list is fabulous
the list is long
Dionne Warwick
Dusty Springfield
Aretha Franklin
BJ Thomas
Tom Jones
Burt Bacharach
Hal David
the list is long
the list is fabulous

Anyone who had a heart
couldn’t walk on by
even if they don’t know what to do with themselves
perhaps wishing and hoping
or say a little prayer with a look of love
or a jovial what’s new pussycat?

RIP Burt Bacharach

He’ll be back

Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Old
Ragtag Daily Prompt Saturday: Trust

He knew,
as he lay there.
that a Saturday
trip to town
meant that Bert
might have a beer
before going
back to the farm
in the old truck,
rattle
bump
down the bush track
to Bert’s shack.
He lay there
waiting as he
knew
He’ll be back

Always a surprise waiting in Florence

Debbie’s Six Word Saturday

Sometimes in a car park……

Sometimes in a back street…..

but remember…..
“Every move you make
And every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I’ll be watching you
Every move you make
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you”

Broken memories

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Carvings, Sculptures and Statues

This morning I went for a walk in one of Graftons oldest cemeteries. Over the years there has been vandalism which saddens me

I walked
among headstones

toppled
fractured stones

names lost
lives departed

fallen
forgotten

a century ago
no one remembers
no one cares

they lay
undisturbed

until now
fractured stones
toppled
headstones.
