Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Old Ragtag Daily Prompt Saturday: Trust
He knew, as he lay there. that a Saturday trip to town meant that Bert might have a beer before going back to the farm in the old truck, rattle bump down the bush track to Bert’s shack. He lay there waiting as he knew He’ll be back
I found this sad faced door in a shop waiting to be sold to someone who would love him. The weathered look and rusty accessories look so good. It was a pity that I couldn’t afford it and had no where it would go at my place. It is rather big.
A while ago, I went to an open house for a house for sale. It was a very old place over one hundred years old and not been lived in for a few years. It was an amazing house with lots of rooms and a huge plot of land. I enjoyed a walk around in time. You can see by the paint work on these door that they haven’t been maintained in quite some time. I loved their patina.
Of course there has to be a song. This is an Australian song that was a big hit. I hope you enjoy it
First is the #PastSquare from the #RoofSquare
Onto a few things that have seen better days
An Australian made car from the 1950’s – a Holden FX
Would you ride this coach?
or go to town in this wagon?
This house is still much the same last time I drove past
Pompeii has definitely seen better days. Also from #SquareTime
This house too is still standing
The Colosseum is maintaining it’s better days appearance
The old truck that “lives” in my street
The remains of bird baths I’ve had over the years. Usually broken by possums trying to find a drink in droughts as I don’t think I have fat birds around here. This was from the #SquareUp
The feature photo is my old chook shed used in #RoofSquare
For this photo in my series of Re-living the past was taken of the old truck that has been parked in the street ever since I first bought the property. When one of the nieghbours bought their place, they didn’t like the truck in front so it was dragged to another property across the road where an old tip was situated. When the person who bought that block, they moved it to the other block they owned in the street which I never knew happened otherwise I would have complained saying its the streets truck and belongs to no one. It should be back as a bit of street art I think.
