In the garden (on the phone)

John’s Cellpic Sunday

I don’t use my phone camera much at all and need to use it to get better. I decided to go into the garden and take a few flower photos. There are small patches of colour everywhere at the moment.

Here is a sample of the flowers in my garden. I didn’t do a Marigold seed raising this year. Thankfully the flowers from last year did a good job in the garden bed. Only the yellow ones though.

I planted an Allamanda vine near the shed so long ago I cannot remember when. It hasn’t flowered well but this year it bucked the trend and sent out about three flowers.

The first flower on this Hibiscus grown from a cutting. I have another one that is rather stunted as Possums go to it every year and eat it but didn’t munch this one?

I bought some plants at a local nursery where I go most of the time for plants as they have a great range of Australian native plants. I saw a six pot tray of Cosmos that looked very sad. I thought they needed a home even though they were not in the plan. It pays to be a regular customer as she gave me the Cosmos plants. Some died but most survived.

This has been the best year for Cats Whiskers, one of my favourite garden flowers.

No Buttercups but lets sing about them anyway

Addendum – I found a pack of Marigold seed and planted then in a seed tray. marigolds for everyone in a week or so

Directions (something we all need)

Debbies One Word Sunday: Direction

There is always a direction when owning a car

At other times, the direction may prove impossible

Sometimes a direction can be misinterpreted

Some directions can only be specifically for some people in our society

The best direction indicator yet. Although swiping may get you banned.

Confused by the direction? May as well go Over Under Sideways Down with the Yardbirds

People (you’ll find them everywhere)

Lens-Artists Challenge #292: People Here, There and Everywhere

Not well know for people portraits, I am not one to take people photos. My people photos have feathers, fur or scales. But that aside, I have some people photos that have been posted in the past, so being a lazy grey, gloomy drizzling rain day, I am getting some oldies out.

Tina showed us some great colour to monochrome conversions. I was surprised to find a monochrome person photo.

There is always people at the railway station. Some wait, others are in a hurry for their train.

While others are content to take their time in Bologna

Lucky to be in Seoul for the Buddha Festival. The Lotus dancers rehearsing.
A slide show is best to show the Lotus flower opening

One person can show scale in Bologna

A lot of people also show scale at the Spanish Steps

I picked the photos and put them in the post and funnily enough they are in a Here, There and Everywhere order.

Sunrise (23 March)

Hammads Weekend Sky #122

I awoke well before sunrise this morning. Cup of tea at hand I wondered at the small slit of sun appearing in a cloudy sky. Last night was clear as anything until the Moon rose above the canopy, then of course the clouds came in.

Following is the changing sky. These are the colours that greeted me by the time I made it down the hill. The Sun is to the left eventually.

The Sun is peering through the trees giving me the best sunrises I can muster from Autumn to Spring.

The sky seemed to loose all those purples and pinks. Down low it looked liked the last of the red Sun

Well, I am glad I stayed a bit longer, the broken cloud started to take on a new hue.

The lower sky was rather orange/red lighting the clouds. During Summer the Sun rises between the trees.

The clouds were getting bright tangerine? – pick what colour you can see

The final whole segment of sky photo before the show was over. It finished quickly and grey skies took over.
