A flower from the past

Cee’s FOTD
Bren’s Floral Friday

Yesterday I went for a drive to Jackadgery to get some milk from the only shop and petrol station close to my place. There’s not much there any more. We have a community hall, a bush fire brigade shed and the old school house. My girls started school there and we were a part of the school community as well. The school closed in 1995 or there abouts, as there wasn’t enough children attending (my girls had left many years before to go to high school) and the Government at the time was hell bent on ridding itself of schools like this as they weren’t financial for their liking.

One thing we did to the school grounds was to plant gardens. A lot of them have gone, like the sensory garden, but some of the hardier plants are still going.

I had forgotten about this lovely light pink Hibiscus. Of course I snapped off a branch to strike some cuttings.

Last on the Card – November 2021

Last Photo for November 2021

Thanks for being part of my idea for a challenge which people are embracing and word is spreading. Like a lot of people I forget and am surprised at what was the last photo on the three devices I use to take photos. I went from –

  • testing the phones macro
  • a repeat of Hammad’s Weekend Sky from a few weeks ago
  • one I was saving for Macro Monday and Cee’s FOTD

So let’s see what you have for November 2021

The rules are simple:
1. Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 30th November.
2. No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
3. You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
4. Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
5. Tag “The Last Photo”

Some old and some new pinks

Summer Still Colour Challenge June: #Pink

Since Judes pink colour challenge I thought I would have a look around and see what I could find. A selection of pinks you may have seen before and some you won’t have I hope. Of course there is going to be lots of flowers some with a bonus flower friend.

Yes at this stage we were leading the yacht race

Yes I know, if you have to say it, say it

The last pink for April

Life in Colour April: Pink

A few days ago Jude asked if we could find any pink buildings. I had a few drive and walk arounds but didn’t find any pink buildings. I was looking at Travel With Intent’s Pinkitecture and thought it’s the last day and I didn’t find any pink buildings. Suddenly I remembered my time in Venice and a day trip to Burano and hopefully could find the building. Well I did so here is my last photo for Life in Colour: Pink

A pink walk around town

I always forget Cees FOTD

Today I had the opportunity to be a tourist in my own closest town, Grafton. While on my walkabout I found many of the gardens had pink flowers, Camellias, Hibiscus, Frangipanni, Roses and many more. So get ready for an avalanche of pink flowers.

and from behind

Now for the Roses

I wondered why there were so many petals on the ground then one or two just dropped from the bush. I discovered the culprits – bees who were doing what bees do best but that usually doesn’t include knocking petals off.

and a not quite pink but has pink don’t you think and is the sort of photo I like
