Nice catch. I’m guessing it’s a type of bee. Haven’t seen one orange & with a black and white back.
bees here are yellow as well as the hornets.
Wasps have the black & white strips

Thank you. It is an Australian native bee, a Blue-banded bee. The blue bands aren’t as distinctive from the angle of the photo I guess 🙂
