Hammad’s Weekend Sky #59
It looks like the big rains have gone and the ground is starting to dry. No longer squelchy when I walk around the garden. There are still rain around and storms are predicted for some areas still. I hope for a sunny day today and by the looks of it, it could be. I feel deeply for friends and family in Lismore, the Richmond catchment who took the brunt of what is being called a rain bomb, over 600mls in some places in a few hours, and for those in my catchment whose houses and farms have been flooded with water still on the ground almost two weeks later.
Anyway here’s your song for the day
Not a cloud to be seen this morning
The sun saying good morning to the gum trees
Now that is a clear sky..I don’t think I’ve ever seen a completely cloudless sky before.

It didn’t last long

Glad to hear you’re drying out a bit. I hope the areas around you get some relief too.

Lovely mellow sounds. The clouds have pushed in our direction and we’re very grateful, Brian.

They returned not long after but I am happy to share Jo 🙂

The song was so appropriate and it’s new to me so I appreciate it all the more. Though it made me feel a little tearful it was also a comfort. You caught those blue skies beautifully! Now they seem permanent in my mind even though they didn’t last that long. Thanks, Brian!

Most welcome Maria. It was a song that I probably heard years ago but it seemed to be the right one. It is so good 🙂

Beautiful sky, Brian. I hope the sun comes out in force to dry out the land. 600mm in a few hours is a phenomenal amount of rain. If I recall rightly, that’s close to the annual rainfall for 80% of Australia. I can’t even begin to imagine how scary that would have been.

I am wishing for a bit of sunny dry days. It has rained again this morning but just a brief downpour 😦

Och, that’s crappy. Fingers crossed it gets better soon for you all.

It was a bit wet in the morning but dried out enough to mow around the house so it didn’t look like an abandoned place 😂

here’s hoping things can dry out and be repaired quickly, although reading the news guess for many that might be a forlorn hope 😦

I do as well. Another grey day with some brief downpours already 😥

I am bored now of dust clouds can you send the rain here!

Those dust clouds are horrible. In a way it’s lucky you have a supply of masks for going out when you need to. Everything must be gritty. I’ll blow as best I can. 🌧🌂

Surprisingly not gritty, very soft but takes ages to wash down.

Not gritty is a bonus but too easy to breathe in

Yeah there were lots of warnings about it. We mostly stayed indoors or wore our PR2 masks if we did venture out.

Lovely musical accompaniment while perusing the sky photos this morning. Hopefully, your weather will moderate a bit!

I read about the Lismore back in March and saw the pictures as well, which certainly showed the devastating wrath of the rain bomb.
600mls is way beyond the line.
Glad to see blues from your side.
Thank you very much for sharing this lovely sky capture with my challenge 🙂
