Let it grow

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Things People Grow

A song I haven’t heard in ages. A favourite from years ago. Have you ever heard Let it Grow?

Pityaya or Dragon Fruit

Raspberries….eventually

Raspberries

Bananas

My lovely chooks. I really miss having chooks around

Flowers. Lots of flowers to cheer the day. My Leopard Lillies are starting to flower

Pineapples. There is going to be a glut of Pineapples in Australia this year due to unseasonable Winter rain and inflation

Kigelia Africana or Sausage Tree. The fruits can be up to 60cm long and weigh up to 15kg so be wary if walking beneath a Sausage Tree

  1. I’d never heard of Sausage Tree before this post! I love exploring fruits. Recently had a dragonfruit – found it being sold at a shop in South India and brought it home. I’m not sure though, if I picked the right one – it wasn’t as sweet as I was expecting it to be! But the bright colors were definitely enticing 😀.

  2. Great photos — as for the song: I didn’t know it and I am listening to it now. It’s a bit to “breathy” for me these days but I cab see my 50 years young self liking it.
To be honest, I only know “let it grow” as a line in a kind of rud-ish version of “The weather outside is frightful …” Sorry, I know. I should grow up (but I don’t want to).

    1. I don’t think so. There are too many creatures that like to eat the eggs as well as chooks. It is too upsetting to come home to carnage.

  3. Don’t think I’ve ever heard the song before but I quite like it. We just planted a dragon fruit at work so perhaps it will produce some of these down the line. I love banana flowers, and the fruits. We have sausage trees here too. Very exotic looking though the fruit is poisonous I think.
