Running on empty

Lens-Artists Challenge #277: Empty Spaces

Unsure of what to do again. I had to discard some as I call them minimalist.
Does Minimalism fit into empty spaces? This is one I discarded.

So on I went, and went on a gallery search…….yeah lazy I know but I have lots of
stuff to do. I picked a few gave them a sort and started to do descriptions. That’s
when I got a bit carried away. I still am not sure what is wanted but here’s a
selection of photos that have an empty feel I hope.
I have a couple I wanted to post but can’t find them, oh well, get on with it.

Uplifted by clouds
sunlit daytime
our moon

Look about
the art of
empty space

Once there be slaves
wild beasts
in the Verona Arena

Long ago
people roamed
these halls

A century before
Parisiens ascended
these stairs

On the horizon
swallowed by swell
sail on sailor

Contemplation walk
alone
shifting sands

Sunrise awakens
waves rolling
morning has broken

Sunset calls
take wing
return to roost

To satisfy the earworm given to the Jackson Browne fans

    1. That is so lovely of you to say Jo ♥️🤗
I am lucky I have had clouds and rain for the past few days and more on the way, so no Moon gazing.
I am going to have to mow. The dead brown from a few weeks ago is now green and growing fast 🙄

  1. Absolutely cannot choose a favorite this time Brian – your assortment of empty spaces is superb! I do especially love the sailboat image. Your poetry is marvelous as well. (would you call it poetry?)

    1. Thank you ever so much Tina. I love the hazy feel of the yacht.
I am glad you like my words, I call it poetry but it’s not a standard way, more free form.
They just start and stop, I have no control, they are what comes at the time. Sometimes I might do some minor edits but basically it is as is 🙂

  2. They all fit the bill of “running on empty” and I always liked that song and now I have an earworm. 🙂 I like the girl and eagle on the beach but the birds taking flight to roost in a pinkish sky is my favorite.

  3. Love your choices, brian – favourites are the moon and the mirrors. Beach pictures can never go wrong. I too had difficulties in understanding what to pick here. Negative space is easier.

  4. My comment was lost in space? One more try.Love your choices, Brian! Favourites are the moon and the mirrors. Beaches are always right too. And I too found it difficult to understand what to pick…negative spaces are easier to understand.
