In the garden

Debbies One Word Sunday: Unexpected

I am playing with my wildlife camera again. I have had it on the bird baths.
I had an unsuccessful attempt at the Satin Bowerbirds bower in the garden,
about five metres from the front door, when I moved the camera tightening
the strap so the aim was not right on the bower.

I made a stand that was stable and put it in the garden bed where the
bower is. It worked well but was just a bit too close. Too hard to have any
where else that focuses on the bower.

On the first night I put it out, I think a Red-necked Wallaby came for a
sticky beak. That was unexpected.

The Satin Bowerbird came and inspected the camera. Of the around 160
photos, this is the only extreme close up. That was unexpected too.

The tree in focus in the background is where I put the camera originally.
That the view of the bower is side-on is the downside.

A leaf, a rock and a ball

John’s Cellpic Sunday

I was walking in the garden with my phone and spotted this scene.

The underside of a dead Silky Oak leaf, on a rock probably picked up from
the side of the road as part of a garden border and that red ball has been
in the garden for many years. It keeps appearing in different places,
sometimes I put it somewhere as part of a garden decoration, other times
I’ll just throw it out of the way if I am working on that garden bed.
