Ludwigs Monday Window
A while ago I spent a few days in Sydney. The harbour is a wonderful place. I love the ferries and have since I was small going on the ferries to various locations around the harbour.
This first one is a ring in but has maximum windows. The ferries used to be hired out for Sydney Harbour party boats
The Alexander is one of the older ferries but one of the cutest.
The Pemulwuy is one of the more robust ones that goes out of the Sydney Heads to Manly
Just another view
These are fast compared to ferries
They must be, it says so
Not the Mersey but what other song did you expect
That water looks so inviting.

I think I’d enjoy a leisurely trip on a couple of these, the oldest and the fastest. But definitely no parties! 🙂

I hated harbour parties. You were trapped on a boat for the length of the party and couldn’t escape drunks. I couldn’t believe how much booze was drunk on those ferries.

My view exactly. I have no patience with drunks! And I hate being trapped. That’s one of the reasons why I would never go on a cruise, I would be so bored. Everyone says ‘you would love it’ but to me it would be torture. 🙂

Those ferries have a good deal of character. I wouldn’t mind putting around the harbor on one of them.

Some very showy windows – and so much more. You have quite an old clip there. Nice.

I thought it was time for some different windows thanks Ludwig. Glad you liked the song too 😀

Those are spiffy ferries, as is the song. I’m giving my age away if I say I know the words as it was in my time, with the transistor radio with the pink ear cord so I didn’t disturb my folks’ ears.

They are rather great. Glad I could send a memory 😀

You often do (send a memory that is). 🙂

Great title for this post. The boats are so unique. We rode them a lot in Seattle when we used to go up there all the time. I haven’t ridden one since the 80s. Love the look back in time, too!

What are they like inside?

The old ones are all wood seats inside and out. Rows along the sides and rows across. As a kid always had to be outside especially if the sea was a bit rough and there was splashing

I remember all wood seats. They were so uncomfortable, polished and you could slide around on them at breakneck speed if no one was sitting there.
