Lovely. I like the two red trees, are they manipulated or were they red? And then of course the tree with the scribbling on it. Have taken many such photos both in Australia and Kazakhstan, and now I need to know what the name of the tree is and where you took the photo.

The red trees are what they are like when the bark first strips off. I used selective colour to retain the red colour while the rest is b&w. I can’t remember the name but a Flooded Gum, Forest Red Gum or similar. The eucalypt with the scribbles is called a Scribbly Gum. Not sure exactly where I took this photo but it would be within a few hundred kilometres of my place

Thanks, I love the photos. Scribbly gum? Perfect name for it. You in America?

Great, so you are from Australia. My sister lives in Buderim in Queensland, I think.

They are remarkable when the bark strips off and shows the redness 🙂 🙂

Some of these look like paintings and would look wonderful framed.

Beautiful gallery! I love the image with the red trunks; it’s a really striking contrast against the stark B&W of the other trees, and of the rest of the gallery.
