The Tuesday Photo Challenge from Frank at Dutch goes the Photo prompt: Lock
Near where I stay in Paris is the Canal St Martin where sometimes boats travel along the canal, whether it be traders, ferries or the tourist sight seeing boats. In order to get through the canal and onto The Seine, the boats must negotiate a series of locks.
Here is Le Martin Pecheur making its way along the Canal St Martin.
Patiently waiting for the water level to rise
The water is almost at the same level between the locks
And then the gates open slowly
Safely on its way
I’d love to be on Le Martin Pecheur.

I love watching boats in locks, Brian. We’ve walked that canalside but we’re currently close by the Leeds-Liverpool canal, which has its own charms. 😍🚢🚣💕
