Negotiating the Lock

The Tuesday Photo Challenge from Frank at Dutch goes the Photo prompt: Lock

Near where I stay in Paris is the Canal St Martin where sometimes boats travel along the canal, whether it be traders, ferries or the tourist sight seeing boats. In order to get through the canal and onto The Seine, the boats must negotiate a series of locks.

Here is Le Martin Pecheur making its way along the Canal St Martin.

The water is almost at the same level between the locks190813_blog_challenge_lock_paris_canal_stmartin1
And then the gates open slowly190813_blog_challenge_lock_paris_canal_stmartin3
