No waiting? Bad sign if nobody wants a haircut.

Great old fashioned Barber shop! Love the song – I actually did cut my hair this week – or rather had it cut – but not at a Gents’ Saloon nor a Ladies’ Saloon but rather a Ladies’ Salon.

Thanks Helen. This is a modern barbers that also had a bar. I guess you didn’t drive to get your hair cut in a saloon either 😁

Ah now that is a cool idea – a drink while you’re having your hair cut! Is the saloon for gentlemen only or are ladies allowed?
I seldom drive so I could have a drink!

Women who like very short hair often use a mens barber. I am sure they’ll take anyone’s money 😂
It is an old thing. When I lived and worked in Sydney, there was a barbers in North Sydney called The Stallions Stable – all wood and leather. You could have a glass of Port or Sherry while you waited.

That’s a great photo, Brian, and a good fit. I have a bit of a barber-ish theme going.

What a fun photo. Imagine going in and saying, “I’ll have whatever’s on tap, and a trim, if you don’t mind.” One salon I used to go to served wine. I never did. Wanted to keep a sharp eye on how much was being cut on a ‘trim.’

I like those old-style barber shops, by whatever name they go by. There’s something classic and stylish about them.

Good old Barbershop. I used to go to a barbershop for a haircut because the hairdresser(women’s one) didn’t cut my hair short enough. I think they were afraid in case they cut off too much, haha. Barbershops use clippers, while in those olden days, hairdressers used scissors.

Yes the clippers. The barber I went to as a kid, a leather box on the seat to make me tall enough and he started with scissors. In between cuts he would click the scissors, What a sudden memory rush 👍😮 😀

Now you’re giving me too a memory rush. Those scissors clicking was frightening at times. Is he going to cut out a piece of your ear?
