Yes. From the first eggs that you don’t normally see as they are so small. marble size to some of the really big eggs which make me wince every time I think of the poor hen who laid it 🐔🥚😲

That’s a startling variation in size for hen eggs.

Oh yes, I had lots of hens once, ten dozen a week easy so I went to the nest boxes often. Had to get eggs before some marauding snake or goanna had snacks. I caught a goanna once when the chooks were carrying on. The best way is to hold them by their tail so their feet are off the ground, it does them no harm. This day while holding him tail up a couple of eggs fell out of his throat that he didn’t have time to swallow. They were a bit slimy and went straight to the compost 🙂
