Re-living the Past #25 – My First Abstract Photos

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Abstracts

I started thinking about photographing abstractly (if that’s the word) way back in the old film days. Digital cameras have made that pursuit even easier as I can take a lot of photos until I get what I want. In the last five or so years, I have become to enjoy playing around a lot more with the effects and manipulations using photo software. I use Corel PaintShop Pro Ultimate 2023

These photos were posted in 2018 and filed under abstracts. All of the photos haven’t been altered. You can see what I saw.

The blue bottle and others

Debbie’s One Word Sunday: Glass

When I saw Debbies green bottles on the steps, it reminded me of a bottle on a plinth I found I Bologna with some blue random paint undoubtedly it was some sort of tag. Unfortunately my bottle is plastic.

So I had to go on the hunt for some other glass. I found some green bottles.
I suspect that these may be plastic as well.

Now this bottle is glass amongst the rocks under the water

Tonight is the Winter Solstice

Terri’s Sunday Stills: A Wildflower #Solstice

The fire was lit
to celebrate
the Winter Solstice
the warming glow
smoke drifting
into the trees

The sun was setting
casting a stillness
over the bush
birds at roost
silence
only broken by
sounds of cars
in the distance
on the highway
heading home
from working in town

A car drives
down my road
the crunch of gravel
another coming
home for dinner
Here’s cheers
to the Winter Solstice
a wine and snacks
crackers
cheese
olives
sopressa
the warmth of
the fire

The sky darkens
the bush is quiet
all are home
the faint sound
music from
down the road
the faint reverse beeping
of the final
truck to
leave the quarry
silence at last
darkness decends

The final embers
the final glow
of a winters day
Winter Solstice
goodbye my friend
until next year
when a fire
will be lit
to celebrate
the Winter Solstice

It’s a match up

Looking for ruby wine

The Sunday Stills Monthly Colour Photo Challenge: Ruby #Wine

Let’s see what I can find? I did think of a song to scroll to though

Fungi, flowers, glassware, an Assassin Bug, a car, succulents, a sunset and time for dinner.
