Thank you đ
I have been posting for years not knowing, besides WP when they used to host lots of challenges, if it had a home. Hugh decided to take it on a while ago

You’re welcome, I’ve been enjoying your many posts. Is it right for a person to take on hosting a challenge that already has a host on record? That makes me uncomfortable. Credit where credit is due, and all that?

I guess if you don’t know it’s hard. Is the challenge still going on that blog do you know?

Thanks. Yes, that Wordless Wednesday challenge is still going strong at the original link with the original hosts. I admire them for their longevity and sense of community!

I will let Hugh know. It’s a pity it’s not a WordPress site

WordPress is a better more robust platform. That said, being platform agnostic allows for more cross-pollination throughout and the possibility of meeting new bloggers and expanding the community. It’s a way of reaching beyond the walled garden in other words.

No One “owns it” and it is not a WordPress site. I have been blogging 10 years here and have never had anyone comment on it.

I thought it was one of the early challenges that WP used to do

Yes I have been doing it since it started đ

It doesn’t need to be a WordPress site. In fact, WordPress actively encourages bloggers to reach beyond the borders of the WP walled garden with the various options to promote posts externally – the publicize options in Jetpack, the social media sharing buttons for Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. WP encourages expanding your blog’s reach. You can attract new audience for your blog and also you can learn about new blogs by others not in WP. It’s healthy cross-pollination IMO.

Yes, in your opinion

I believe the Dude in The Big Lebowski said it best, ” Yeah, well that’s just like your opinion man.”

So many details in such a delicate object. The background is interesting too. A lovely shot, Brian.

Neither did I until Hugh offered to host.

I remember years back that the challenges were hosted by different people, or I should say to start participating in the challenge one had to send a link to that hosting blog. Some of the older challenges still use a special link-up.

I didn’t know about some links for challenges, I am just posting photos even I not sure where to link or who is hosting. I guess that’s a bit naughty đ

As long as you enjoy it, which is more important and you give the name like Wordless Wednesday strangers can look it up and maybe get somewhere. I think the problem is hosting it under your own name as if you started it isn’t the best way to do it.

Beautiful serene capture. I had no idea there was a host for Wordless Wednesday and it troubles me that someone is making a big deal about it. Especially if it is not on WordPress, and who cares? And Happy Birthday to you đ

Thanks Lisa. I didn’t know either but being on blogspot there’s no way of knowing. I think it has been so random that Hugh thought that it needed a WordPress home.
I reckon as well and will keep going as I am.
Thanks for birthday wishes đ„°â€

To me the point of blogging is having a place to share with like minded people- free of nonsense like this. Seriously ridiculous. And you’re welcome. â€
