Lost in Translations Words of Wisdom – Y23 #7
“They say that somewhere in Africa the elephants have a secret grave where they go to lie down, unburden their wrinkled gray bodies, and soar away, light spirits at the end.” – Robert McCammon

It was an art installation at the GOMA, Gallery of Modern Art, in Brisbane a few years ago 🙂

We were on a holiday in Botswana when a tour guide told us a loooong story about the elephant grave yard where elephants supposedly go to die. We were sitting around the campfire and he held forth. The ending was … unexpected to say the least. I like your story/quote better.

Exactly the kind this was. It was all the more surprising because we were at a campfire and the teller was an experienced ranger. 😆
