A day at Woolgoolga

Terri’s Sunday Stills Monthly Colour Challenge: #Teal or #Aqua Rhymes with???

Yesterday I went to see a friend who was my first school friend at the age of four. He and his wife are having a mini holiday at a beach town down the coast from my place called Woolgoolga. I have been thinking of what I had for this challenge and going into town for lunch I found just what I wanted.

A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by

A way in the distance, Solitary Island and the lighthouse from the headland

Thought I would also sneak this into Pull Up a Seat

Appearing

Terri’s Sunday Stills: #Emerging from…?

An emerging or a beginning?

Emerging from the night, a sunrise is a good start

Let’s begin with the flowers. A Grevillea starting to open

I think this is a Dahlia

A pink Hibiscus

Frangipanni flowers

A lovely Rose

Now for a bit of nature, some not as pretty as flowers. Willie Wagtail chicks not long out of the shell and eyes aren’t open yet.

Welcome Swallow Chicks are always hungry and ready as Mum flies in

I love seeing the Joeys when they start to hesitantly pop their heads from their Mums pouch

Wide eyed they survey their world and keep an eye on the bloke with a camera although Mum doesn’t care all that much

A rare moment finding a Cicada emerging from its shell

My favourite emerging photo

and an emerging moonrise is a goodnight

Our Moon and some clouds

Sunday Stills: #Light the Night

On Sunday night, the full moon rose over the hill and a scattering of clouds helped the Moon light the night

It was a very bright Moon (sorry about quality – hand held)

The clouds tried to cover our Moon

The scattered clouds allowed some Moon #Light to shine through

I love taking photos of Our Moon

In case you wonder why I call it Our Moon as the Moon belongs to no one and is not some sort of mining resource that some nations on this ruined planet seem to think. OUR MOON is a source of love, light and wonder since humans looked to the skies. OUR MOON controls our seas, weather and the moods of humans and it should be left to continue being so.

Triangles

The word prompt from Terri for Sunday Stills: Triangles

I had to think but yes there are triangles everywhere

A Taste of Summer

Terri has asked what a taste of summer means to you. See what others have posted in A Taste of Summer

I  know that Terri was hoping for some fab food shots or those wonderful cooling Summer drinks or the sea with people frolicking or the Summer that is what we enjoy when we know that Winter is on the way out.

My post is what Summer in my part of Australia means.

By now you must have realised that Summer in my part of Australia is quite hot. Last Summer we had a number of days that were over 40C and the rest were in the high 30’sC.
Despite the heat we can manage to enjoy our countryside. I am lucky to live within a short drive to the beach to spend my day lazing in the cooling waters.

One of my all time favourite bands. Sly and the Family Stone were one of the early bands to embrace integration of musicians. Have a dance with me

The word prompt from Terri’s Sunday Stills: Great Outdoors

When you live in the forest it is always the great outdoor just outside the front or back door.

Watch out

The Sunday Stills Photo Challenge from Terri is Danger

Just going into the garden can be dangerous. I was moving some rocks on the garden border to remove some plants that were growing among the rocks when I saw the warning that could be in danger.
