Lens-Artists Challenge #183: Memorable Events
I have been trying to think of something for this challenge. I have something that will always stick in my mind.
Almost ten years ago I convinced my bestie to travel with me to Europe. I had been a few years before and just had to go back and find some new places and re visit some places I had been before.
We took off from Australia, travelling via South Korea, we landed in Rome at midnight. A driver picked us up and we went to our accommodation, a Wimdu shared place. Wimdu was an AirBnB type of accommodation finder. The people were lovely and Alba and Mauritsio welcomed us into their home.
The next day we caught the bus to the city centre and once at the Termini, we started walking. We stopped at the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore and then walked on.
Rounding the corner there was the Colosseum. I shall never forget the look on her face when she first saw this wonderful building. This shall live with me forever .

Becky’s Square Photo Challenge: Past Squares
Of course there has to be a song. This is an Australian song that was a big hit. I hope you enjoy it

Onto a few things that have seen better days
An Australian made car from the 1950’s – a Holden FX
Would you ride this coach?
or go to town in this wagon?
This house is still much the same last time I drove past
Pompeii has definitely seen better days. Also from #SquareTime
This house too is still standing
The Colosseum is maintaining it’s better days appearance
The old truck that “lives” in my street
The remains of bird baths I’ve had over the years. Usually broken by possums trying to find a drink in droughts as I don’t think I have fat birds around here. This was from the #SquareUp
The feature photo is my old chook shed used in #RoofSquare
The Lens-Artist Photo Challenge #140: A Change of Scenery
As we are travelling a bit, let’s take some music with us. This is an Aussie band called Fraternity. You may recognised the singer playing the recorder. It’s Bon Scott, the lead singer of ACDC when they first started out, before his time in ACDC.

In the older cattle yards
And to the new yards
Even some birds have a yard. Satin Bowerbirds hang in their yard and have a dance while singing a tune
A photo of my yard not all that long ago
A peek into a yard in Rome
Some yards are big enough for a horse
Didn’t think of shipyard until the last moment
Someones front yard
A rather eccentric front yard
A bit of a drive through the front yard to get to the house
Please shut the gate
There is always a restful seat in my other yard
