A Striated Thornbill contemplating a bath

Striated Thornbills after a bath

A Striated Pardalote looking at you

The Ragtag Daily Prompt Wednesday: Blast
The Daily Word Prompt: Copious
All was going to plan. A romantic getaway, a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, soft music, candles lit around the room, hot water running for the bath and then “someone” decided to add some lovely smelling scented bubble bath.
It was then the blast occurred. The spa jets turned on and copious amounts of bubbles appeared, exploding their way out of the bath and onto the floor with no way of holding back the tide.
Worried…..no.
Laugh a lot….yes.
So when an artist and photographer get together to assess the situation and work out what to do……
1. Do they try to mop the floor?
2. Turn off the spa jets?
3. Do they summon assistance?
4. Make the best of the situation? or
5. Do the creative thing they always seem to do when they are out and about?
If you answered yes to 5, you are correct
The day was a pleasant drive in the countryside with my bestie and her friend. We went to a nearby town, Kyogle, went to the farmers market, bought a raffle ticket from the local Scout group (I didn’t win the produce which was the prize), went to the art gallery, roamed about town dropping into shops and chatting with the people, finally having lunch at a charming cottage restaurant watching the world go by.
On the way home I wanted to get some photos of the dairy cows that were in a paddock close to the road. Across the road were the calves, chickens and general farm animals scattered among the usual farm machinery and stuff that farms tend to accumulate.
On the hill were a couple of horses and this is what unfolded.
It looked like a pleasant greeting. I thought I would try to capture this tender scene between two horses in the same paddock. So sweet as the came together nose to nose.
And then with a flick of the head, a bit of artful maneuvering and the attempt at a playful nip or two.
There seemed to be an air of non-reciprocation and qualm
The subtle moving about and quick motion, the rearing and dust being kicked up hinted that all was not friendly.
Suddenly a quick gallop around the paddock side by side which I thought was letting off steam so all would be well.
But no. They were back at it again in a sudden switch of mood to indicate that all was not well
I had had enough of this drama in the farm paddock and went back to the gentle dairy cows.
This is probably my first multi challenge post

So we have Sheryl’s Daily Word Prompt: Vanish
and Nancy’s Photo a Week Challenge: Timing is Everything
and Franks Tuesday Photo Challenge: Overhead
One day I was sitting in the garden
When from overhead
I heard something buzzing
growling, perhaps a deep throated roar.
I looked towards the horizon
Nothing
I looked towards the mountains
Nothing.
Hold steady I said
The sound began to get louder
That strange buzzing
growling, perhaps a deep throated roar.
I held my camera to my eye
Hold steady I said
Timing is everything
The sound was almost overhead
I waited
from the tree tops
The sound was there
I held my nerve
I saw it as it flew overhead
Timing is everything
Quick get that shot
before it could vanish.
The sound started to wane
That strange buzzing
growling, perhaps a deep throated roar
In great excitement
I looked at my camera
opened the screen to reveal……….
Timing is everything
when something is overhead
otherwise it will vanish.
The Daily Word Prompt from Sheryl: Negotiation
Quite often
they come
you see
to splash
or drink
or just be.
Some find
a reason
some go
the bird bath
boss sometimes
a Spangled Drongo.
Sitting waiting
a dip
now and then
a Spangled Drongo
negotiation skills
says who when.
They look
they wonder
some stay
in they go
to splash
and play.
But only
if allowed
by a Spangled Drongo
who lets
them bathe
then off you go.
Please may I have a bath implored the Little Wattlebird
Well then Noisy Miner you will have to decide….in or off you go
Did he dive or was he pushed?
Hurry up dear, we haven’t got all day
