CWWC: Highways, Structures and Signs
CFFC: Highways and Structures (number 2)
Heading out of the city

Under a bridge

Through a bridge in the country

Some are big

There are tunnels in the country. You drive in

Have a look around at how ordinary they are

Then drive out the other end

In the city they are dark and mysterious

But every now and then

Magic happens

Road trippin

Nice light effects in the tunnels

Love the tunnel pics. I used to like driving through tunnels. None around here of course.

There is only one near me at present but another one is being constructed south of here on a new highway deviation because the route was too close to an environmentally sensitive area. Also to reduce traffic noise on the outer suburbs.

I like bridges and tunnels that get constructed to help wildlife navigate highway slashing through their territories.

Just back from mine! Always a few hairy moments on the road, but I love being somewhere new xx

That’s not good Jo. It can put a dampener of the excitement momentarily. I guess a good Monday Walk is in the offing? x

Monday will just be a medley, to catch up with last month, Brian. Then I expect to have a few decent walks xx

I’ve not been in a tunnel bridge for years. We used to travel to Canada a lot to visit my grandmother after moving here to the States. You have the option of taking the tunnel under the Detroit River or the Ambassador Bridge to cross over it. Soon, September 2025, we will have a second bridge which even allows pedestrians and bicyclists to cross over the River.

I still get excited when we have to drive through a tunnel 😁

Yes, all that darkness and it lasts longer than the carwash and is less noisy!! 🙂

The tunnel looks fantastic and advanced.

It is a rather newish tunnel. I think the colours and lights are to keep drivers from getting bored

So, it’s too long. It’s more entertaining than boredom.
