Dans Thursday Doors
I did a scoot around South Grafton on Saturday afternoon to get some photo challenge photos. There weren’t many original doors left in the main street. Some of those that were still original, had modern security doors which take away the feel of the street, but also protects the shops assets.
Unfortunately this used to be a great pizza restaurant. A fire in the kitchen plus personal problems saw it shut too long ago and has remained empty.

The doors to a cafe which has seating outside as featured in Judes Bench Challenge and John’s Cellpic Sunday. Yes Jo, this is where we can have cake.

Love the reflections in both of these.

Afternoon was a good time to get clear reflections as that side of the street faces west

That’s fine, hon! I almost never eat pizza (well, I would, but a certain person can’t eat cheese)

I often make pizzas for myself. I should go into the cafe and take a photo of their cake selection

Go on, then! I did tell you I’m giving up cake?

I have as well. Don’t need that much sugar and sweetness.
I will cave when the situation presents itself and I do want some but I’ve not had any cake for a few months now 😁

At the cafe I go to regularly I am having a Friand with my coffee or a granola and honey cookie.
I decided I am sweet enough as it is 😁

Cool doors. I’ve found myself doing the same as you – going out looking for doors to photograph 🙂

I love these doors. The reflections are amazing, especially on the deep set doors. It always makes me a little sad when I see “modern” glass and aluminum doors, or drive through an area with security shutters pulled down. I appreciate the shopkeepers who have kept the magic alive.

The street doesn’t have a lot of shops and some have stupid stickers on the doors as well which I don’t find attractive.
When I was building my house, we found that they were pulling down an old bank building and were able to take the big wooden doors which I made into sliding doors.

Those must be lovely.

They are quite big and heavy but work well. One is fixed and the left hand side slides
The only downside is my ex painted them

Sorry about that. I had a wood shop teacher who said, “If you paint your project, the best I will give you is a C.” He only relented for a kid that made a lacquered box with seven coats of finish.

At least it wasn’t coloured paint

Shame about that pizza place. But no one is interested in opening up shop behind those lovely doors?

Basically once they settled the separation etc there was rumours of new equipment bought and kitchen up graded but the woman who is in control now is a bit of a flaky cow

I like the tiles at both entrances; they are a particularly nice welcome, I think.

Some of the older building here have wonderful tiles. I actually took some photos of tiles in a shop doorway on the weekend

Good! Maybe we’ll see them in another doors post!

Maybe if there a doorway tiles challenge 🤔
I might investigate more and see what I can find for a stand alone post

Those doorways have so much character. It’s sad the first shop has not opened up again. Lovely shots!

Thank you Brenda. It is a shame as it gives that part of the street a run-down feel
