Dans Thursday Doors
A couple of doors from a church in Toowoomba. I can’t remember the name of the church.
The side door to the Vestry

Who knows where this small door might lead?
Maybe they should have put yellow safety paint on the top as well so you can’t bump your head too

That little door is indeed a curiosity. Two big steps leading to a crawl space? The bands of white also seem rather stark in contrast of the rest of the walls.

I am sure the original colour of the bands wouldn’t have been white.
Maybe it’s the doorway to hell 😂

I think you might be right, Brian. On the other hand, maybe they have a wine cellar for communion wine.

Wine cellar. Australia isn’t that flash Sue. It must be storage of some sort though 🤔

Nice idea though, I have visions of an old fashioned Irish/Australian priest having a wine soaked gambling den! 😂

Maybe storage for root vegetables. Like cool storage. We used to store vegetables under the house so they would last

Not sure about that either. I reckon there’s junk down there

Love the structure of the door with a pointy arch and stained glass windows. I too am wondering where the small door leads. Maybe you should go back and ask them haha

I must agree Sheree. I’ve never seen flimsy church doors

The side door is wonderful. I’d expect it opens quietly and with a soft touch. The little door certainly is curious. If it weren’t for the steps, I’d think it was a service chute of some kind, but…
By the way, I’m having fun saying Toowoomba. I’m not sure what syllable to emphasize, but it’s fun trying the possibilities. I hope you have a great weekend, Brian.

Thanks Dan. I hate to think what might be through that door.
Try Ta-woom-ba. Can always spot a new news reader to the region by the way they pronounce place names. Like Tumblebum is Ta-bul-gum 😁

Not the way I was imagining it, but it rolls of the tongue pretty easy.

A lot easier than Tum-bul-gum that’s for sure

like bubblegum, only with a T

No, you have to loose the “bb’s”
Now I re-read that, bb’s sounds like a bra size 😂

Interesting but distracting white bands around the first door and a fascinating door for midgets in the second shot. 😁.

I was just thinking the same about midgets Janet 😂

Love the little door. Good for me 🙂 but not for my husband. Definitely needs yellow warning paint.
