By 1892 the original Exhibition Hall had seen its best years and was replaced by the existing, attractive Victorian free classical style Main Exhibition Pavilion

The one storey Main Exhibition Pavilions timber pavilions are clad framed, four joined sections with domed tower, round headed windows, iron roof gabled and domed, timber walls with rear and side walls constructed of corrugated iron, quoins timber routed; timber footings; iron columns, ceiling King post trussed, walls horizontal; tongued and grooved timber, timber floors; windows one and four paned; doors tongued and grooved panels; fanlights, gas lamp side door and a domed porch front entrance.

In 2020 the Pavilion and other parts of the Glen Innes Showgrounds had a $310,000 restoration.

  1. Thanks for all the details and for this beautiful photo. It seems from the great effort, detail and cost… that there was a strong plan and will to restore and preserver this building. So wonderful to see that these days. Thank you for sharing it.

    1. Most welcome Suzette 😀 I am happy you enjoyed a bit about the pavilion and it wonderful restoration project results. It was hard to find a good spot to get all of the building in. I was happy with the photo too
