Debbie’s Six Word Saturday

As rabbits are such an introduced pest in Australia so chocolate rabbits should move over and make room for some chocolate Bilbys. As you can see, the chocolate company donate 10c of the price of each chocolate Bilby sold.
Here a bit about Bilbys, if you are interested. Once roaming over 70% of Australia, they are now restricted to 15% of the deserts of Australia. A lot of it due to rabbits who utilise most of Bilbys habitat, then there are the Foxes and feral cats.
Wonderful! Happy Easter to you and the Bilbys, Brian

I bought a chocolate Bilby for a friend the other day. I noticed you can also get squirrels although I’m not sure why as they have nothing to do with Easter and we don’t have them here anyway. Nevertheless I got my sister one because she’s going to England in May and hopes to see some.

I’ve heard of this. I understand why. But I keep wondering if the hens are okay with it?

What does it say about me that I can get behind eating a chocolate bunny but not a chocolate bilby?! 😲😦😨

It’s OK Lois, I’ll take care of your Bilbys 😋

I’ve never quite figured out how rabbits and eggs are together but chickens wouldn’t be very appealing. Squirrels seem a bit odd also. I can always go for some chocolate, though, especially if it’s dark chocolate. 🙂

Well you see Janet, there was this rather, well promiscuous chicken who had a bit of a fling with a randy rabbit…….
Dark chocolate is my favourite as well 🙂

Oh wow – sorry about the rabbits and their interfering with the habitat
We have some rabbits that come and go in our yard – but before this I never lived in a place that had them
And ugh – for a while they left dropping near the garage and I left if bag of moth balls there and they stayed away

Thanks Yvette. Moth balls are a good deterrent for lots of things. I don’t like the smell either so would work on me as well 😂

yes – it was a little too strong for me too – and so I put them into a zip lock baggy and only unzipped it a little – that way it was less odorous –
I also bought a spray that keeps rabbits out and used that near the back fence – it worked for about a year and I need to spray again –

thanks for the tip
I used to grow “lemon balm” and it had a great scent – but never grew lemon grass

I’d never heard of the bilby, though I’d come across wombats. Grrr to all those introduced species everywhere that have wreaked such havoc.
