Ludwig’s Monday Windows
Some of the aluminum shades probably replaced the canvas ones that were originally on these windows. I am guessing perhaps the 1970’s

I wonder if a bit of a scrub up would bring them back a little. The only house that still has its wooden windows and aluminum shades.

Now to the grand shades

I like these ones. They look quite new. The scalloped edges look so good.

Here’s a closer look at another one on the same house.

These are my favourites

Shades can be beautiful! We needed them in the UK last summer but mostly they would just cut out that much needed light. Still thinking about getting some that can be rolled out when needed though.

They are quite lovely. I think canvas ones would be best for that 🙂

I think so too. Although they don’t last forever!

The grand shades are grand indeed! Shades like that are rare where I live, so it’s fun to see the ones you share!

Thanks Shelley. I reckon they are more of a hot country thing to keep the sun out of houses 🙂

You’re welcome. Yeah, just like you can’t always relate to our bitter cold temps, I have a hard time fathoming extreme heat for prolonged periods. But, I do enjoy a tropical beach where the temps are warm like that… 😉

I need some neat shades over my window. Sun is always full on through this window. I also think I’d need canvas ones because I need the sun to warm up my room in winter.
