Dan’s Thursday Doors
Another trip to Italy. This time to Bologna, a wonderful city. The best place to eat was just down the road, Trattoria Il Vaporino. They looked after us and the food was fabulous. Good fuel for door hunting
Wood, studs and stone, what could be better

A grand entrance

The carving around the door frame. You can see which door gets most use

Steel, arches and character

What a marvellous foursome. And a restaurant recommendation! I have never stopped in Bologna and yet I pass it every time when driving between Slovenia and Tuscany…

A worthy detour Manja even if it’s for a lunch stop plus they have great doors 😀

These are fabulous doors. The top one is my favorite, but the brick work in the last one brings it close. I love arched entrances and doors. Sorry about the pingbacks.

Thanks Dan. WP should be apologising for the pingback situation

Thanks Margaret. A wonderful city to roam about and be immersed in their culture. The colonnades are spectacular 🙂

Great doors. They look ancient and mysterious. Who has walked through them over the ages?

I’m always on the lookout for some good-looking studs. 🙂 Ha, ha! Great doors this week, Brian. I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend, even if it’s just staying home and relaxing.

Thanks Janet, I won’t tell Mr as long as you look and don’t touch 😂 My weekend planning will be depending on the heat of the day but no fun is scheduled yet. Have a fab one as well 🙂

There weren’t many doors like that in our street, back in the UK!

Love that top one, a door not to be messed with!

It does command you pay attention. Anyone who has the forehead held together with a staple does not need to be messed with for sure

May I know the age of the grand entrance?

I am sorry, I do not have any idea of the doors ages. At a guess I would say 19th or early 20th century?
