Sleeping on the train

Leanne’s Monochrome Madness
Bren’s Mid-Week Monochrome #121

The sleeping car of the Southern Aurora, a train that went between Sydney and Melbourne from 1962 to 1986. The rear carriage had a neon sign, Southern Aurora in blue, at the back.

Going to have to wait until October this year before it comes up this way again.

  1. I remember the Southern Aurora. It was an all first class train. I always wanted to travel on it but never did. We did travel on the Spirit of Progress between Melbourne and Sydney a couple of times as our rail employee passes got us cheap fares. They were not valid on the Southern Aurora.
