From little things….

Ragtag Daily Prompt Saturday: Copy

Yes this is another post for the prompt. I had this as my original idea until I saw The Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge of Bend and that changed my mind to do a double dip post.

Not to lose this idea, plus I had it almost ready to go, here is a bit of from little things, big things grow.

This song is an important part of Australia’s history so I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do even though as I listen as I write I have tears in my eyes

Australia – Always was, Always will be the land of the First Nations tribes

I know I have digressed and you want to see what I am talking about. Here are how a plant called Donkeys Ears copy themselves. Botanically called Kalanchoe Gastonis-Bonnieri, it is from Madagascar and is honours a famous French botanist, Dr. Gaston Bonnier

This is a Donkeys Ears plant I have in a hanging pot which has has a plantlet growing on the tip of a leaf

Here is the plantlet complete with its roots ready to pop into a pot and grow another copy.

This Donkeys Ears is in a pot on the verandah and has much bigger leaves. The leaves can grow up to 50cm or twelve to 20 inches long. Taking a cutting from a leaf tip and placing soil will also result in a new plant. The leaves on this plant have a couple of plantlets. One on the tip at the top of the photo and one on the lower left leaf
