I took this photo the other day. What do you think it is? Organic or inorganic? Man made of natural?

I THINK it’s bark. But it could easily be a rusted tin can.

Interesting … maybe an old piece of rusty tin can?

It does look like a bit of rusty tin but its a piece of bark from a Spotted Gum Tree. Thanks for having a go Barbara ๐

Now that’s a difficult one; it’s either a bit of bark or an old tin ๐ค It’s probably neither, but I’ll go with bark ๐ค

I think it’s metal, made by humans.

No humans involved I’m afraid Rebecca, its a piece of bark from a Spotted Gum Tree but it does look like a bit of rusty tin ๐

Amazing bark. I wonder how the Aboriginal People used it, I bet it had a specific purpose.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Probably didn’t have a specific purpose as the bark comes off in smallish pieces giving the tree a “spotted” look and it is brittle.

Inorganic and man made.

Thanks for having a go but unfortunately it is organic. Its a piece of bark from a Spotted Gum Tree but really does look like a bit of rusty tin ๐

Tricky. My first thought was man-made, metal, perhaps, but I’m going to say tree bark, although not of a tree I know.

Not on your own Jo. Lots of incorrect guesses with a few correct ones as well.
Unsure of my weekend. There’s few things arty happening but would involve leaving early so I would be driving home before sunset which I cannot do so maybe not.
I’ll probably end up doing stuff around here.

I already guessed on Twitter! Wasn’t able to sign in and comment from the link at the time. It’s amazing how it can be interpreted in different ways – almost like a piece of art.

I should have bought it home as a piece of temporary natural art ๐

Yes I suppose it must slowly decay. A photo project in itself!
