Dan’s Thursday Doors
Cast iron. Everything is cast iron, the door, the handles, the hinges and fittings. It’s small door down low in a back lane in Lismore. There is still remnants of ashes.
The door is at the back of a Bakery and this is where the wood fired ovens ashes are removed.

Ah. I bet they bake good bread!

These massive “little” doors are fascinating. I can almost smell the bread.

The door is a split door did you notice. Not sure why. Maybe to get the hot coals on the top before scraping the ash from the bottom part of the fireplace.
The laneway doesn’t smell of bread but the bakery does especially early in the morning 😋

I did notice the split. I was wondering if the top door opens to the hearth floor. The bakery must smell heavenly.

It’s just cool ashes. It would be a few hours after the fire cooled I reckon. Sometimes get bread there as it’s not in my town 🙂

Mmm, a good bakery…and a great door. What’s not to like? I think this door might figure somehow into a spy/thriller, when the ashes aren’t hot, of course. 🙂
