I think we sometimes call them awnings – but now I know they can be called canopies or shades….

Awnings here are larger and mainly over doorways but can be interchangeable with windows too π

I like the small scallops and these shades sure have charm.
I guess we don’t really see them anymore because we have so many options for indoor window treatments, right?
anyhow, I love driving by some older homes and seeing the shades, which we call awnings

Yes they are only on older buildings with wooden windows. Where the windows have been replaced with aluminum windows, the shades go as well
