A bounty

Ragtag Daily Prompt Saturday: Citrus

Before a lemon
a flower is born
splendid in white
a centre is formed

A lemon emerges
hangs on to life
shiny and golden
from sunshine to ripe

The tree is heavy
a bounty of lemons
yellow and happy
life from the soil

Towards the end
a sunset of life
the next stage
ready for picking

  1. That’s so lovely, Brian – beautiful sequence of pictures and such a lovely poem πŸ™‚
But you missed out the final verse… Maybe:
    ‘Tired Daddy and Mummy,
    After long days at work
    Slice the yellow beauty,
    Releasing it’s aromas
    and drop,
    with a clink of ice,
    to their glass…
    Sunset of the day”
    xx
