Yes it will gobble up leaves. I am not sure what species it is but I wasn’t going to try to see if the “things” (a technical term) stung or itched after contact.
One day it will be a beautiful butterfly or maybe a moth 🙂

We have something like that here and it does make for a beautiful flying creature. I’ve been stung by one before, it’s not fun.
