It’s more of a window shade than a curtain. Being Italian, I reckon there would be elaborate curtains on the inside

What an appealing look all around, Brian! The outside curtain or whatever it’s called make me think of cloth shutters except that they come down rather than close in from the sides.

That really didn’t sound quite right. I think of them as sort of cloth shutters.

We call them window shades here so I guess that would apply in this case too

Yes, window shades here too but on the inside. The reason they remind me is shutters is because they’re on the outside.

On the inside we call them curtains 🙂

I should add that we do have window shades as well but are called blinds more than shades
