Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Walls
Ragtag Daily Prompt Saturday: Freedom
Upon my walls
they run free
keeping
my house
insect free
They have
their freedom
bother
no one
Behind the
pictures
on the walls
scouting for
insects
a mate
Beautifully named
Velvet Geckos
exist with me
Under the light
is one
I named
Keith
any insect who
drops to the
floor
is dinner
But upon
the walls
they run free.

Say hi to Keith

I am waving at Keith – aren’t they handsome and so helpful too 😀

So lovely. Keith now doesn’t run when I walk through the room, but still is watchful. Last night he was either going to fight another male or a female was trying to get his attention. It was funny to watch his stance but scurried away as he was out in the open 😂

Oh wow, how fabulous and what great entertainment. He’ll start asking for insect snacks soon in return for the show!!

I have been thinking of getting a few during the day or leaving the screen door open so the insects are attracted to the light where he spend a bit of time waiting…..

Hello Keith! Such a relief to see you – I thought you were going to be a spider! Thank you, Brian.

I did have a bit of a game there didn’t I? 😂 I have an seven legged Huntsman in the bathroom who I think was a victim of a Gecko.
Velvet Gecko is a good name as they are so soft 🙂

Hi Keith 👋 I always love to see a gecko on the wall when we travel. To me they’re a sign that we’re somewhere far from home!

Hi Punam, I don’t make any noise like my Asian cousins. I am glad you dropped in to say g’day 🙂

Oh yes, there are a few who prefer to live outside on the verandahs. I sometimes put the lights on for them to catch insects too 🙂

Hahhha!! Keith to the rescue in war with insects. Such a funny photo. We have these fellows over here too, but (mostly) on the outside walls.

Between Keith and the Huntsman spiders insects don’t stand a chance inside 🙂

Waving back at Keith. You have to love critters that eat insects. We would have loved to have had some bats in our previous location so they could eat mosquitoes, but there was an opossum around our backyard in Illinois and they eat mosquitoes too. Here in Arizona we have a couple of small geckos in our backyard and I always enjoy spotting them.

Thanks janet, sometimes micro-bats swoop along the verandahs at night. I guess they are desert Geckos at your place 🙂

Gotta love geckos, well except when they poop all over the kitchen counter that is.

love this Brian. Even though you know I am not partial to lizardy things- in the same category as bugs for me 😀
