Last Photo for August 2021
Wasn’t there a great range of photos among last months lot of photos. Let’s do it again. I was lucky to be in a another great spot for my last photos, all at home as I am in lockdown still…..sigh
The rules are simple:
1. Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 31st August.
2. No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
3. You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
4. Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
5. Tag “The Last Photo”
Here’s mine
From my Samsung Galaxy S9

From my Canon PowerShot A1200

From my Canon PowerShot SX70HS

Great photos

That little beetle took a lot to photo, it wouldn’t stand still until I got it to the end of the leaf and it had to make a decision π

#1 looks quite random! Some good firewood there. Mine will appear tomorrow.

I wish it was good firewood but will make a nice warmth in the fire pit no doubt. There is a story behind the photo. Just say I had to show someone π

The skeletal look of the fallen branch/downed tree is fascinating! Knew there was something about the end of the month othere than writing a rent check for September 1.
Will post my last on the card soon.

That poor tree had been dead for a while, since the last drought, the wind finally bought it down. Glad you like that one. Look forward to seeing yours later π π

I read the comment you gave on the bug not standing still for a second. Looks much like a cockroach.

That is quite possible. I have over twenty types of cockroaches here. I just used a generic beetle as I don’t like the word bug

Interesting, I think there are more than we know about because many we never see anyway. Still this one is an interesting looking little beetle.

My immediate thought on the top one was that it was a giant skeletal hand! Mine, as you know, is https://grahamsisland.com/2021/09/01/sunset-from-the-lanai-2/

It looked more like a hand before I cut it into pieces. How could I forget that sunset. That was truly won the award for most stunning Last Photo π

I do like having three cameras I use for different things and places. One is small enough for a pocket.

Definitely proper last on the card that first one – rather lovely collection. Mine is on the way, taken me until now to compose it – it is rather sad mine.

Thanks Becky. It is a rather random photo isn’t it? Can’t wait to see yours but sad???

Very random, and rather fabulous
and sorry mine was so sad. Hope you didn’t mind me linking with you, but your wonderful challenge felt such an appropriate way to commence his legacy xxx

Not at all. I felt privileged that my challenge was the place to commemorate his place on the internet and our lives xx

The first one looks rather sad, but the other two were lovely ends to the month.
I had a bright end of card on my way back home from a few drinks with friends I hadn’t seen for 18 months: ://travelwithintent.com/2021/09/02/shepard-fairey-on-oxford-street/

Intrigued by the ‘Beetle’, Brian – Temnopteryx by any chance? What is the bird? – I had a quick scan through one of my field guides but wasn’t sure of the identity. Anyway, here’s my last on card entry – https://2e0mca.wordpress.com/2021/09/04/last-on-the-card-august-2021/

Thanks Martin. It can’t be a Temnopteryx -Zebra Cockroach as they are only in South Africa. Mine didn’t have the as spiky rear legs of cockroaches. An almost right on a quick scan, well done.
The bird is a Rufous Whistler. Great sound in the bush and garden most days π

Yes Poor tree. Am thinking of something I could use the timber for but it’s soft wood so won’t last long
