Love these caterpillar chains!! 🙂 Or are they trains? I wonder how the leader gets designated. DO you think (s)he’s not allowed to drink the night before?

Thanks, I call them trains. I love playing with them especially with the kids. A bit of fun a while ago. No one was harmed as you see, I am trying to get them off the road.

Their food tree, Fringe Wattles here, are flowering so when the new leaf growth happens perhaps this year. It’s not every year or more likely I didn’t see, that they head off to new trees to eats. I’ll notice the ball of fuzz at the base of the tree and quite a number of leaves eaten.

Insects are fascinating. Ones who gather and have communities are easy to study. That’s why butterflies are seemed to be mysterious, one day they just turn up. Did the hatch or is it a migration?

Yes, butterflies are fascinating. Such short lives but involving migrations!
