The Ragtag Daily Prompt Thursday: Rusty Relic
A wonderful old car built in Australia. The second Holden model built in 1953, the FJ is an iconic car. Although the sedan was far more popular, 169,969 being sold, the Australian farmer bought far more utes which even today is the most practical vehicle. The ute was developed from the demands of farmers wives who wished to go to town in comfort and not have to share the inside of the car with pigs or chickens on market day.
I even found a bit of Aussie rock about the Holden FJ
I love the roundish shapes of old cars.

That’d make a fun restoration project.

There’s lots of rust on the inside. A good welder would be needed

Hmm, perhaps too far gone then?

Not for a very keen restorer 😂

I am hopeless at metal work so no thanks. Even in that state it would cost a lot to buy

Yup a classic is a classic and expensive so long as its restorable.

I found this
“The car looked pretty damn good when I bought it but when I went to tidy it up, I started finding little spots of rust. The more I dug, the more I found,” he grimaces. “It had rust in the inner and outer sills, in the roof, everywhere. Whoever painted it put tons of bog in it.”

That’s a gorgeous little car. We’d call it a Rover over here not a Holden. I’d love to have a drive in that one though.

That is a fun rusty relic and the song had tough singing with that twangy beat (to me) and went so well with your photos
