The Ragtag Daily Prompt Tuesday: Spruiker
On day walking around the less touristy places in Seoul, we headed down a street where a lot of people were going so we tagged along. It wasn’t long before we came across this huge shopping centre. Outside was a spruiker trying to get people inside and to the particular store he was advertising.
He was quite comical and whatever he said to the passing shoppers made them smile or laugh.
I didn’t realise that this was an Australian word. It is often more likely to be used in carnivals where they try and get you to go into their particular tent or sideshow. Sometimes these shows are not exactly what the spruiker shouts to the crowd.
Anyway back to South Korea
I read a book about the city of Seoul, sooner or later I’ll have to visit it!

I have been to Seoul a few times but not for extended stays. It is an interesting bustling city 🙂 🙂

With a groucho nose! How fabulous! Now I need to go through my photos… somewhere I have a photo of Spoonman in Seattle years ago. And I have met him since then….

Do find him. I am sure you have a spruiker in there somewhere. Great prompt and made me go into a great travel memory 🙂

Have to admit I’d never heard of “spruiker” before. But now I know and am a better person for it. 🙂

Very interesting to someone who has never heard that word before, and quite a change from your bird postings.
