Brilliant – what a gallery! Even – and especially – the spider.

Well done Del. That is a Huntsman Spider. Quite harmless and a great organic pest control ๐ ๐

Thank you, Brian. Nice to know there are good guys amongst the creepy crawlies!

Is it a poisonous spider or just a big spider? I don’t really mind big spiders – provided they are not too fast.
BTW: that wallaby mama looks very reproachful – like she didn’t appreciate being disturbed. ๐

Huntsman Spiders are harmless and good at eating other insect pests. That one would run at 16 body length a second around three feet a second I guess.
Red-necked Wallabies are very protective of their young. Would bound away with the joey in her pouch or joey speeding along with her. I haven’t been fronted by a one yet but some have made the don’t come near me noise and stand tall with chest puffed out ๐

Great collection, Brian – all of them. That lily shot is a very sharp capture.

Great pictures. We certainly don’t get spiders that big here, pretty cool, though I would probably jump if it sneaked up on me ๐

A spider that size would make me go running far far away. I adore your lily photo ๐ ๐

Thanks Cee. I am sure she would run as well if you came too close. I am happy with the Day Lily and Bee photo too ๐ ๐
