The Bird Weekly Photo Challenge: Birds in Black and White
I thought I had already contributed to Lisa’s photo challenge and looking through my posts I can see that I have written quite a number of posts with a similar theme. I will have to dig into the archives for this one so sorry if you have seen some of these before
Here’s a short song that I discovered many many years ago. I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do.

Loved the duet!! And of course, the wonderful photos.

what great photos, BB
and the Magpie song was so interesting –
the magpie was an annoying bird for us when we lived in Denver – that is – until we got two dogs – 🙂

Actually I was thinking of posting all the real black and white birds I have around here but thought that would have been a bit cheeky. I know, who would have thought me as cheeky 😀 😀

Lovely bird photos, and selective color too! 🙂 And the before and after… effect, so to say, in the sliding door/ window photo, could you tell me how you obtained that? 😊 I looked and looked… it is wonderful, lovely idea!

Thanks Nicole 🙂 When you click on the links icon on the block, a window comes up with what you want to use the block for. In that menu is Image Compare. click on that and the rest is easy just have the before and after photos ready in your media file. Hope that helps 🙂

These are so great! I didn’t see your pingback and it isn’t in my pending or spam. Sorry I didn’t reply earlier. You really got me with the Magpie as you know that is my nemesis. LOL! Your black and whites are really outstanding. Remind me what the 4th bird is in your slideshow. That is the one I want to feature in the roundup. The last photo….who would have guessed that bird was red if you didn’t show us both versions. Really awesome gallery! 🙂

Thanks Lisa. The 4th one is a Beach-stone Curlew. I just had to add the image compare 🙂 🙂

Thanks. I knew it was a curlew from the name of the file, but no idea exactly what it was. I’m really happy you added the image compare. What program do you use for your post editing?

My program I have been using, and updating every year, for years now is Corel PaintShop Pro Ultimate. Easy to use doesn’t cost lots and even still I don’t use many of the functions that are available. Not sure if it’s just a PC or laptop program.

Does the link look like what you use? I can use this in my blog if that is the case. https://support.corel.com/hc/en-us/articles/216699368-How-to-perform-Selective-Coloring-in-PaintShop-Pro

I supposed that is a good thing? Hope your birds are still around. Next week’s bird weekly is birds you’ve seen in the past two weeks so I was hoping you were still seeing birds. 🙂

The heat is good for drying things out. There are always birds around Lisa. The winter migrants have/will arrive more as the months progress 🙂 🙂

Yay! We are in spring migration but they will soon be replaced by the summer migrants like the Swallow-tailed Kite. One of the Audubon ladies texted me the other day and said she saw one flying in our neighborhood when she drove by. Ugh! It is too early for them. 🙂
