Jude’s Life in Colour: Yellow

Cady’s Photo Challenge: Just One Person Around The World
To acknowledge the traditional lands where we gather sometimes there is a Smoking Ceremony performed by the Indigenous people to welcome us. The people gather around the fire in a circle where green Eucalyptus leaves from the area are burnt giving a scented smoke that pervades the air.
I have been lucky enough to be involved in a few Smoking Ceremonies over the years and it is quite a powerful way of welcome. As the smoke rises, the singing and playing traditional instruments happens. A didgeridoo and clapping sticks plus the singing does send shivers down your spine.
