It’s time to join Su for a cuppa
Yes as we have found so many people are concerned about Corona Virus or Covid 19. Being in a rural location the chance of infection are slim but we are a tourist destination so I don’t think we will be welcoming tourists with open arms just yet.
I am fine as I am isolated, in a way, where I live. My neighbours and I are well used to social distancing. The closest neighbour is about 200 meters away!! I still go to town, not overly cautious and don’t listen to the town gossip. The shelves are devoid of many items but as I have a well stocked pantry anyway due to the distance I live from town I just go for fresh vegetables and fruit, meat and meat in food items. Other than that it is other shops that supply things I need for around the place or for doing stuff in the shed.
Enough of that, let’s get down to why we are here.
As you may have gathered being a fair distance from town, I bake my own bread. I made this earlier in anticipation of Su inviting us for a cuppa.
I hope you don’t mind if I have cut a slice
I do enjoy butter on my bread. I hope you don’t mind that I have buttered the bread already. What would you like on your slice of bread?
In case the bread didn’t come out on time for a cuppa, here is some croissants and coffee with some jam or marmalade.
Thanks Su for the invite, I am enjoying myself and can’t wait for other to join us
I’m there . . .can’t resist bread, and knowing you made it and are there to share stories means I will be staying quite a while!!

PS Most of the supermarkets around us are out of flour, fortunately though MrB has ordered some flour direct from the mill, so we will be fine here for a few weeks bread making too.

I have bought ahead anyway so I am fine for about 10 loaves plus a really nice flocaccia mix:) Yay Mr B for thinking outside of the box (of flour)

That loaf looks irresistible! Could I have mine with jam, no butter, please. How about if I bring some home-made shortbread with me?

Fabulous Sheree. I have Strawberry Raspberry, Black Cherry or Fig. I am sure there’ll be room on the table for shortbread 🙂

Thank you for inviting me! Wow! This is a real treat!
Yes, thank you… Everything looks delicious! Yes, I’d like my bread with butter, and would like to try your fig jam. Just a touch, as I’ve never had it before.
If I could charter a jet I’d also bring something dark chocolaty, and not too sweet, hoping that would also suit some of your other guests. Hope that would be acceptable?
Your home is fascinating! What’s in the shed? Would you give us a tour later?
Thank you so much for inviting me!

Nice loaf there Brian, but personally I prefer brown bread with some seeds, the OH likes white bread though. With lots of proper butter please and I’ll have some fig jam, used to be my favourite when I lived in SA. Not sure you can buy it here. And coffee please. Despite being a Yorkshire lass I can’t stand the taste or smell of tea! And now I must see if I can get some bread flour.

Mine is my own mix of wholemeal and a crusty white. Always proper butter from the cows around here. How do you like your coffee?

Home baked bread, and croissants!!! You spoil us. I’m definitely a butter on bread girl. Nothing quite like that first slice while it’s still warm.
Thanks for joining us Brian, and bringing such yummyness. I’m glad you are ok and still able to get the essentials. You and Becky have reminded me that I should order some flour soon too. I get mine from a company that mills locally grown organic wheat and it seems even more important than ever to support local businesses.

Gosh, looks like I have reached peak yumminess. Next tea party will be a real thinking strain 😀 😀
Yes order the flour. I was surprises when the bread flours were in short supply.
Warm bread and butter………

I love the smell of fresh-baked bread. I had to go to three different stores to find flour a week ago and all they had left was a few bags of white all-purpose flour. Since the stores here never seem to have bread anymore I’ll be baking my own too.

That’s not good. Bread is a staple. The flours are in short supply here too.

Easy for me living in the Aussie bush I am self isolated most of the time and dread having to go to the shops at the moment

Popping over from Su’s tea party to partake in some of you delicious looking bread! Orange marmalade on toast is one my comfort foods, but bread and butter is also a winning combination. As for croissants… say no more! Hoping you are safe and well! 🙂
