What else can they do but enjoy a little splash to cool them down? My next-door neighbour has still a drop of water in the one gutter. Every morning blackbirds come to quickly quench the thirst. We are in a state of drought here at the moment. No sign of any rain soon.

You are always one day closer to rain. I have a number of bird baths around my garden

Here are many cats around and they keep on killing the birds. Bird bath needs to be put high enough so the cats can’t jump up and onto it.

Cats and birds don’t mix. It is pity but a high rise bird bath is better than none

I know, thats why I feed them at times on the roof of my place and Have a puddle where the cats are not supposed to come. One side of me has three cats, other side one, at the back another one. Every time when I see some new birds visiting me I hope that they survive but it ends up with death for the birds. I usually hear the birds making a noise in the tree and I’ll know to send my dog out to look for a cat again. Cats are not my favorite animal anyway.

That is so sad. Being surrounded by cats doesn’t make for easy bird life

Very true and it angers me because I don’t want them in my garden and the neighbors seems not to worry about it.

It’s their big feet so they can hang onto tree trunks make Treecreepers sit like that in the bird bath

I didn’t recognise the treecreeper without its full silhouette. I’ve only ever seen them on trees. It looks like it’s pondering where to go next.

They sit in the bird bath like they do on trees. Perhaps so many trees……
