Last month I did an impromptu photo challenge which struck a chord with a lot of people, so why not do it again. I’ll probably set the challenge every month for the rest this year.
The rules are simple:
1. Post the last photo on your SD card or last photo on your phone for the 31st January.
2. No editing – who cares if it is out of focus, not framed as you would like or the subject matter didn’t cooperate.
3. You don’t have to have any explanations, just the photo will do
4. Create a Pingback to this post or link in the comments
5. Tag “The Last Photo”
Here’s mine
Do join in and show us what you’ve got.
Perhaps I should also link this to The Friday Friendly Photo Challenge: All in a Row
I was getting a few sunset photos and though of Amanda’s photo challenge hence the trees in a row. I actually have a better photo but this is ok
Ha! I thought it would be cake, but I’ve just had a look and it’s walk related. Yesterday’s cake was scrumptious though. I’m sure it’ll make an appearance at some point. Maybe next time, Brian 🙂 🙂

Cake would have been the best last photo Jo 😂😂

For once, I actually KNOW what the last shot was and have it downloaded, so when we get back from the vet with two dogs, assuming I’m still alive, I can do this 🙂 Sounds like fun. I never know which was exactly the last one simply because for reasons I don’t understand, when I put them into Photoshop and renumber them, they don’t show up in order. Of course, I usually took all of them in a short spurt anyway, but still, why rearrange them for numbering? Another mystery of photography.

Thank you Marilyn. I have my download set by the date so I can find that last one. I wonder why the rearranging when you use other software. I guess the answer is because it can 🙂

I have always found it puzzling. When i download them to the computer, they are in order. When I open that folder in Photoshop, it renumbers them more or less randomly. it may have other criteria I don’t know about but from my point of view, I’d rather see them in order.

Does the program have a setting tab. Maybe there is something in there that tells the program to do the resort

It might, but it’s Photoshop. The manual for the application is the same size and weight as a telephone book from the Old Days. Makes a good doorstop. Adobe applications (used to use FrameMaker for designing books, so I think I’ve used them all!) are universally anti-intuitive. I know enough of it to use it as a platform form my Topas and other filters, but it’s such a complex application, very few people really can use all of it. I’ve known a couple of graphic artists who really knew the application, but they learned it in school and used it daily at work.

Much the same. I use Corel PaintShop Pro and don’t have a handle on all the functions. If I want to do something I can go to the online tutorials which is a great help.

That’s how I’ve learned as much as I know, which is like maybe? 5% of the actual abilities of the application. I also have Corel. I even have the UPDATE for it but all the symbols are different from Photoshop, so it’s like learning the entire process all over again.WHY can’t they use a common set of symbols? Why does EACH graphic program feel obliged to create its own unique icons? WHY can’t they put functions together in menus where they make sense? I’ve been saying this since I started working in high tech in the early 1980s and instead of getting better, it’s worse.

I started at work using Corel Draw so getting PaintShop for home was the easiest. Some of the free programs are easy which I used when using my tablet. It doesn’t work jumping from one to another as you say, functions, icons layout….too confusing

I will probably use my aging version of Photoshop until it no longer runs on my computer and then I will move over to Corel. There was a time when it was the program I used, but that was at least 12 years ago and I’ve forgotten pretty much everything. Somehow, when I bought it, I thought it would be an easy switch, but it wasn’t and since photography is a hobby, not a job, I’m disinclined to sit and really work at it. I’ll learn what I need to learn when I have absolutely NO choice left, but until then? Mostly, I used Topaz Filters and their nifty new Topaz Studio 2. I use Photoshop for resizing, straightening, organizing (Bridge), and giving all my plug-in filters a home. I keep hoping Topaz will make their leveling and straightening functions easier to use. They are a bit retarded. Everything else is amazing, though and you can get Topaz Studio original for free. They gave me 2 for free because I’m a passionate user 🙂

It’s an excellent idea for a challenge 🙂 My last snap is of my toddlers fooling around while eating – seriously against the rules – but I did also get a cute pic of them today during their nap time. So sweet when they sleep! 🙂

I like the idea of this challenge a lot but normally I don’t do posts with only one photo. I will link to here when I include my last January photo in a post – because I will, it’s hilarious. 😀

Brian, I am such a cheat. Now that I know it will be the last day of the month and last on the card, I might just have to rig my last photo. Do you think you should vary the card order at random? Just in case there are other cheaters out there. Not that there would be ….
