Daily Word Prompt: Impulse
January Photo a Day Challenge 2nd: New
This is the last photo I took today on my SD Card. An impulse post and new image post. It is unedited (except for my copyright) As an additional challenge I would like to see what is your last photo.
So send your link in the comments or pingback and show what is your last photo as it is, crappy or not. I took quite a number of photos of the Sacred Kingfisher and some are much better than this but as an impulse and to show the new.
Come on join in and lets see what you have.
Love your Kingfisher.
The last photo I took was yesterday afternoon during a walk across the fields down the bottom of the farm following our family New Year lunch. I took this photo to show how deep the pond had become thanks to recent rain.
Full size I’m afraid so might not show up in comments. https://nansfarm.files.wordpress.com/2020/01/192f6773-b339-443b-aced-ba7ac458d9ce.jpeg

Thank you Brian. 🙂 I’ve had a Christmas break from blogging/reading so don’t know how things are with you, but I know you would welcome the rain we’ve had of late.

Yes Sue, rain would be most welcome. I had rain at Christmas

I still have moments of what could have been but am getting on top of most things. I have hurt my back which has slowed me down a bit. Thanks for thinking of me xx

I followed the link, thank you. I’m delighted you finally had rain, but I suspect you need much more! 🙂

Oh yes, a lot more would just set me up for the next few months Sue 🙂

I love KIngfishers. They are quick and elusive, but their call gives them away.

I have heard the Kingfisher for the past few days and then this afternoon there he was at the old swimming pool looking for some poor unfortunate frog no doubt 🙂

Ooh what a brilliant concept….think I’ve already deleted my card though. I’ll go and check x

You think so. Perhaps I could make it a monthly challenge? Not many people have responded so perhaps not x

Takes time to build a following . . . reminds me I got distracted by something and haven’t checked the camera . . will do shortly 🙂

All I need is Cee, Debbie and others to do a post and it may run 🙂 Don’t worry about that Becky, I fear the moment has passed x

My last one is also from a walk I took yesterday, close to the river Neckar where they had thinned out trees and shrubs along the riverside. https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/01/03/a-heartfelt-bonus-for-brian-and-everybody/
I like the idea of a monthly challenge with an impulse shot!

Oh dear, my beautiful white duck has gone missing. No sign of her and she could not fly so I fear she met a sad ending. There is a remote possibility she climbed out of the pond and crossed to the waterway on the other side…but I have not seen her. Nature…sometimes it makes me sad.

Nature has a habit of doing that especially when it’s a “friend” who disappears. I had one of my favourite chooks disappear, I thought well she’s gone to a predator and one day she appeared back in the yard with eight chicks in tow

What an excellent idea! I delete photos from my SD card every time I use it so I had to cheat and look in the folder on my laptop. I haven’t taken any photos since Christmas Day so here it is: https://wp.me/p79zFr-2zB
All the best for 2020 Brian, I’m glad you have had some rain and that you are safe. It is very scary over in your country right now.
Jude xx
PS love the kingfisher. I’d love to see one here let alone photograph one!

Thanks Jude 🙂 I delete when I down load as well. The last one in the well organised folder system helps 😀 😀
Yes safe for now. My place longer on fire, well I haven’t been able to get down the front yet but I think OK. No smoke to breathe either is a bonus. I am lucky compared with others x

I love kingfishers but have never managed a single photo of one…thank you for yours! They are too fast for me. Very good idea for the challenge, Brian – but I have deleted my card! Wish you a peaceful weekend!

Oh well………..perhaps I may do it again one day Ann_Christine 🙂 Hope yours is filled with fun

😀 Well, my daughter just left for Umeå in the northern part of Sweden, so it is a bit sad, but I have started sorting old clothes to give away, and that keeps me going.

It is hard at first being an empty nester. Keeping busy is a good idea and donating clothes even better 🙂

Yes – keeping busy is the remedy for many things…I and my son will visit her this winter. Looking forward to it.

I love the kingfisher, Brian. And last shot on SD card is a great idea – mine will be London as that’s where I was yesterday. Exactly what, I can’t remember!!!

Mine is a night photo of the moon over the house, it’s blurry, too blue and really not post worthy. But I wished to tell you about it. 🙂 (Oh, it’s the last I uploaded to my comp. It’s a week old. This year I don’t take photos daily. Chances are I have more recent ones still in my camera. I’m angry with it because the automatic focus is out of focus.)

That is OK Manja. It was just a bit of fun and my kingfisher isn’t quite in focus. My auto focus tends to either focus on what’s behind or in front of my subject which infuriated me no end

I had forgotten about the Kingfisher as my first. I was so casual just doing a challenge on a whim and for fun. Doesn’t seem like 22 months ago xxx
