Time for Debbie’s Six Word Saturday
I am sorry for bombarding you with fire stuff but it’s my life at the moment.
I was in town when the atmosphere turned a different shade than I am used to seeing which gave my world an eerie glow.
Looking across the Clarence River at the Jacaranda trees which usually stand out in the landscape
Looking upstream towards the Great Dividing Range where you see mountains. My place is in there somewhere
At 12:45pm
The reflection of the sun on the water which was being whipped up by a very strong wind. There was even small waves on the river
Are you staying in Grafton, Brian? If the smoke wasn’t bad enough, the lack of visibility must make it incredibly dangerous.

No I am at home. I had to go shopping for supplies. It was a bit thinner today but tomorrow is expected to be in the high 30’s again so misery once more 😦

Incredible and frightening. Stay safe. I hope the fires are not close.

Thank you Marie 🙂 None too close, probably 50kms away but is under control at the moment

This must be pretty anxiety provoking, Brian. Hope the fires stay controlled.

A little bit Dawn. Would like to sleep though. Now it’s possums frolicking on the roof and trying to break in to find snacks. I have even given them food

Pesky possums! Try and rest. It’s been a long summer for you when it hasn’t even started yet.

I’ve been watching the news as the husband of a friend in Australia is a fire fighter by profession. They are still out of the danger zone. I hope you will be, too. Stay safe.

Thank you 🙂 The fire fronts are quite big so they will be burning until it rains

Terrible beauty in these shots Brian. I really feel for everyone in the fire zone; even if you’re safe from the flames, the smoke must play havoc with breathing. I know you’ll take care, and hope that the fires stay under control.

Ive lived through a fire that was a block from my home. The smoke was so bothersome and made my throat sore. I can’t imagine! how wretched this must be for you and everyone else. Stay safe!
