I am not really in the mood to write. The dry continued for all of August so my mood wasn’t all that enthusiastic to gather images around my place. I posted quite a number of images from here and for the photo challenges over the month and I haven’t, as usual, added them to this months wrap.

I am heartened by the caring responses from my “blog family” to my posts. Thank you for being there.

August was  my first month of being the Thursday Ragtag prompter sharing with Tracy. I was surprised at the number of people who responded with some great photos, writing and poetry.

OK lets go. I think you may need to go to the dunny and come back with a cup of tea/coffee or drink of choice, perhaps a snack or two depending on the time of day you are here.

I might start with some of the things I found at an auction which I didn’t know was happening. I was going to the farmers market for breakfast and a bit of food shopping.
One of the things I like to find and collect are boxes. Pity these were already sold or if they weren’t the auctioneer was a long way from this lot

Up the road a ways is the town of Kyogle. We go there at least once a year in case something may be happening. On this day it was just us and the tumble weeds lol There is some nice gates though.gate_named_kyogle_august 2019

Remember last month I told the story of the Willie Wagtails nest that was destroyed by something. Well they found a spot on the car port to rebuild their nestwillie-wagtail_nest_carport_named_caniaba_august 2019

  1. Hi Brian. Its funny because I just came back to the blog following another break. I saw you were doing the RagTag, which is one I follow. I thought, gosh, I had no idea it was you, only to learn you have just hopped on board. Glad to hear you are a part of it.

    Happy September. My favorite photo from above it truly Hot Lips. lol. Perfectly named. The sweet cow looks like she has a conscience or a friend on her right ear, even though its a tag. cute just the same. Great capture of the Fuscous Honeyeater drinking from the pond. And finally I so wish I had King Parrots visit my home, instead of the dreaded lizards. A nice collection to sum up August. Hope you are well, see you in blogging land. Donna.

    1. Hi Donna, hope you had a good break. I have thought about hosting a photo challenge for a while but I don’t have the time to give it my full attention so thought being a Ragtagger would be a good way to test the waters. It’s been fun. Thanks for you comments I set up the feeder as King Parrots are naughty and have been snacking on succulents in pots around the house. What is wrong with lizards? I enjoy them around and inside my house. Except if they are big I guess. Yes, catch you around Brian x

      1. Lizards are just “crittery” lol. I do however have a story if I can get around to writing it. We had a heat wave 120 F and the birds were clearly looking for water. I got the hose out and the a baby lizard came hipping through like a toddler. I admit, I fell in love.

  10. so much to enjoy here – I did recognize a few of the photos from posts I visited earlier int he month
    the auction was a great stumble upon I like boxes too – just gave away a small wooden one – to someone who will appreciate it – but it was new and not antique like the ones you found

  12. What an awesome post, Brian!! I love your beautiful photos of flora and fauna! The double barred finch is so cute as are the corellas and the honeyeaters! Such wonderful wildlife! The cow’s haircut is so cute and I’m glad the wagtails found a new place for their nest. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! 😀
